About All About Dog Parenting

Hi, I’m Arushi Chaudhary, the founder and editor of All About Dog Parenting.

I’ve spent more than 15 years as a journalist and editor, including senior editorial roles at Hindustan Times and Bonobology, and freelance work for The Tribune. My job has always been the same: take a confusing subject, find the most reliable information on it, and explain it clearly.

During most of this time, I have also been a pet parent, raising German Shepherds. In my pursuit of learning how to raise a healthy, well-tempered furry baby, I found out how confusing puppy advice really is.

Why this site exists

When my first dog came home, I had questions every day. How much should he eat? Is this much sleep normal? Why does he bite everything? Even as a seasoned pet parent who had done it all before, I still had more questions I needed answers to. Each time, the questions became more nuanced but the answers online often contradicted each other, were written by people who had never raised a puppy, or were buried under product pitches.

So I started doing for dog parenting what I’d done for years as a journalist: researching carefully, checking sources, and writing it up clearly. All About Dog Parenting is the result. It’s a practical guide for first-time dog parents, starting with the puppy months, when you need help the most.

How we research and write

  • Sources first: Health, nutrition and development advice is based on veterinary sources, published research and established guidelines such as AAFCO feeding standards, and we link to them so you can check for yourself.
  • Vet input where it matters: Our articles quote veterinarians on medical and nutrition questions. We don’t give medical diagnoses. When something needs a vet, we say so.
  • Real experience: Where it helps, I share what actually happened with my own German Shepherd: what worked, what didn’t, and what surprised me.
  • Kept up to date: We review and update articles as guidance changes. Every article shows when it was last updated.
  • Honest recommendations: When we recommend a product, we explain why, including the drawbacks.
